Clear and Grub
Whether you're building a swing set or a skyscraper, you always clean up the old site first to make it ready for what's coming.
Four weeks ago, I only knew a grub as the larval stage of a beetle. Then the city gave us a permit to clear and grub. Thankfully that didn't mean to sow and harvest thousands of the little buggers. Instead, while we prepare to begin actual grading, Elite Earthworks will spend this week clearing all vegetation away and grubbing, which is the removal of logs, brush, debris and stumps.
Monday and Tuesday of this week are focused on clear and grub. After that, prewatering of the site will commence in earnest, preparing the area for dirt moving with a minimum of dust.
Lord willing, actual grading operations will begin next week.
